About the role
We are looking for a Junior Aerial LiDAR (ALS) Technician to join our Aerial LiDAR team and support both data collection and processing activities. This is a hands-on, diverse role that involves survey flying alongside a pilot to capture high-quality data and working in the office to process and manage that data.
You'll need to be flexible and ready to travel for field trips of up to two weeks, contributing to projects that make a real impact in environmental monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
Work under the direction of the ALS Manager to deliver high-quality data and meet operational priorities.
Assist in planning and preparing ALS survey trips based on project requirements.
Collect and validate LiDAR and imagery datasets during aerial survey operations.
Manage, back up, and process data in accordance with company standards.
Maintain detailed field notes and ensure accurate communication with the processing team.
Assist in special projects relating to Aerial LiDAR, landscape mapping and vegetation analysis where necessary.
About You
Strong technical aptitude with computers and software tools.
Experience handling and managing large datasets. A fast learner with a proactive attitude and willingness to be involved in all aspects of operations.
Experience or skills in; GIS systems, LiDAR (particularly Riegl systems), photogrammetry, scientific fieldwork, data processing and delivery is highly desirable.
Experience with or strong interest in small aircraft operations is desirable.
