ABOUT THE ROLE
Thiess is seeking an experienced Auto Electrician for a permanent position at our Olive Downs Complex coal mining project. The role reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and focuses on delivering high‐quality service and results for mobile mining equipment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Service, repair and maintain mobile mining equipment in accordance with Thiess servicing and maintenance procedures.
* Complete general maintenance, breakdowns, services and component change‐outs.
* Conduct required inspections to maximise equipment utilisation.
* Provide high‐quality installations including mountings, wiring and testing of equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS
* Certified Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology or equivalent.
* Relevant trade certificate; post‐trade experience in mining, heavy earth moving or hydraulic excavator industry.
* Current open driver's licence and relevant coal mining certifications.
* Refrigerated handling licence advantageous.
* Experience with general service, maintenance, breakdowns, component change‐outs and diagnostics.
* Knowledge of OEM computer‐based systems (Cat, Cummins, Hitachi, Liebherr) and systems such as Ivolve, Mine 4 D, Terrain drill profiling data capture with GPS correction, Wenco and Carlson HPGS, DSS Fatigue monitoring, Hexagon Fatigue monitoring, Mi‐Blast and/or trailer mount remote camera systems highly regarded.
