The role
We're looking for a hands‐on Maintenance Technician to support a 24/7 dry mix production site. This opportunity is suited to either a qualified Maintenance Electrician, Fitter, or Boilermaker who enjoys fault finding, maintenance and troubleshooting across a range of industrial equipment.
You'll work across unloading systems, dryers, mixers, conveyors and palletising machinery, keeping equipment running safely and efficiently. The role involves both electrical and mechanical maintenance, with training provided on site-specific machinery and systems.
This is a Sunday – Thursday night shift role (8:00pm – 4:00am) where you'll be the key maintenance contact on shift, troubleshooting issues, maintaining plant reliability, and making real‐time decisions that directly impact production.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance across all plant equipment
* Diagnose faults and perform hands‐on repairs across electrical and mechanical systems
* Maintain and update the maintenance management system (Guardian)
* Conduct routine inspections to identify hazards and improvement opportunities
* Manage and organise spare parts, stocktakes and inventory
* Support operations teams with real‐time problem solving
* Liaise with equipment suppliers and international stakeholders when required
* Coordinate contractors and ensure all work is completed safely
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the site
Your Experience
We're looking for a practical, solutions‐focused maintenance professional who enjoys working autonomously and solving problems. You're naturally curious, enjoy learning how machinery works, and take pride in keeping equipment operating reliably.
Essential
* Trade qualification as either an:
* A‐Grade Electrician
* Mechanical Fitter
* Boilermaker
* Strong fault‐finding and troubleshooting skills
* Experience working within an industrial, manufacturing or processing environment
* Ability to work independently and make sound decisions on shift
* Strong communication and problem‐solving skills
For Mechanical Trades
* Disconnect/Reconnect Licence (or willingness to obtain)
* Exposure to electrical fault finding, motors, sensors or automated equipment will be highly regarded
Highly Regarded
* Mechanical maintenance experience including conveyors, belts, bearings, gearboxes and pneumatics
* Electrical fault finding and troubleshooting experience
* Experience with packing, processing or automated production machinery
* Confined Space and Forklift Licences
* Exposure to maintenance management systems and preventative maintenance programs
