Job Description
Join Bank of America's Asia Pacific legal team as the lead lawyer supporting the Australia investment banking and capital markets businesses. The role offers broad exposure to M&A, equity and debt capital markets transactions, close partnership with senior bankers and internal stakeholders and the opportunity to work on complex, high-profile domestic and cross-border matters. Join a collaborative and experienced Asia-Pacific legal team working closely with colleagues regionally and globally. Responsibilities
* Assist bankers by reviewing/negotiating transaction documents;
* Engage, instruct and supervise external counsels;
* Assist in structuring and executing corporate and capital markets transactions;
* Contribute to internal guidelines, policies, procedures and standardized documentation;
* Identify and advise on regulatory developments, new products or trends in the market; and
* Interact with different internal functions and develop a relationship with internal stakeholders as a trusted partner, providing practical legal advice
Qualifications
* Qualified lawyer under the laws of any of the states or territories of Australia and/or the laws of a common law jurisdiction who is experienced with Australian market practices
* At least ten years post qualifications experience with a leading Australian or international law firm or financial services company working on international corporate and/or capital markets transactions
* Strong commercial judgement and a practical, solutions-oriented approach coupled with a desire to continually grow and adapt
* Based in Sydney, NSW
