Overview Forensic Science Queensland is seeking an accomplished and technically credible leader to step into the critical role of Executive Manager – Court Reporting within the Forensic Biology division. This is an opportunity to lead one of Queensland’s most specialised forensic functions, overseeing the delivery of complex DNA interpretation, statistical analysis and expert court reporting services that directly support the integrity of the criminal justice system.
Responsibilities Leading a highly skilled multidisciplinary team, you will drive operational performance, scientific excellence and strategic service delivery across the Court Reporting function. You will play a key role in shaping the future direction of forensic biology services in Queensland, ensuring the delivery of timely, innovative and high‑quality forensic outcomes while maintaining the highest standards of scientific integrity, accreditation and professional practice. This role requires an exceptional communicator and relationship manager who can work collaboratively across government, scientific and justice stakeholders while fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, professionalism and continuous improvement. The nature of the role involves exposure to sensitive and confronting material, requiring resilience, professionalism and a strong commitment to supporting staff wellbeing and service excellence through effective stakeholder engagement.
Qualifications Mandatory requirements include a degree qualification in science, forensic science, applied science or a related discipline. Postgraduate qualifications and contributions to published forensic science research will be highly regarded.
