Key responsibilities for the role include
* Leading with safety, applying health, safety and security standards in all tasks and decisions
* Validating plans in the field through regular underground inspections
* Developing, coordinating and presenting weekly and rolling three-month plans
* Preparing drill and charge designs to support production targets
* Supporting cave performance through effective drill, charge and firing strategies
* Identifying and delivering improvement initiatives and short-term projects
* Monitoring progress and maintaining accurate reporting and data integrity
* Building alignment across operations and technical teams to ensure plan execution
About you
You are a practical and delivery-focused Mine Engineer who understands how to translate plans into executable work in an underground environment. You are comfortable working closely with crews and leaders, bring a strong safety mindset, and can adapt quickly in a dynamic operational setting. You communicate clearly, build strong relationships, and take ownership of outcomes.
* A Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering (preferred)
* Underground mine engineering experience
* Experience with mine design tools (Deswik or similar advantageous)
* Strong communication skills (verbal, written, numerical and graphical)
* Ability to build effective relationships across site teams
* Self-motivation and ability to deliver outcomes in a fast-paced environment
* Strong commitment to safety and operational discipline

Work on an attractive fly-in/fly-out (FIFO) roster from Brisbane, Townsville and Cairns or a drive-in/drive-out (DIDO) roster and take advantage of our top-class camp, or live local in the close-knit community of Cloncurry and be home every night.
This roster is 8/6 (dayshift only) and is a 12-hour shift.
