About The Role
Applications are invited to apply for our Rehabilitation Registrar positions. Our friendly and supportive department currently employs 10 Rehabilitation Physicians. There are 3 x 6‐month registrar positions available, including:
1. Neurorehabilitation – Stroke / Neurorehab / ABI / Spinal cord injury
2. Musculoskeletal/General – Orthorehab / Amputee / Reconditioning
3. Rehab@Home & clinics
Applicants seeking either 6‐ or 12‐month positions will be considered.
Key Responsibilities
4. Patient assessment and management
5. Management of acute and chronic medical conditions including preventative health
6. Recognise, escalante and manage clinical deterioration
7. Work within multidisciplinary teams
8. Supervision of junior doctors in conjunction with consultant (HMO and intern level)
9. Participation in family meetings and complex discharge planning
10. Liaise with medical staff at University Hospital Geelong
11. Attend teaching programs, support junior medical staff in attending both formal and ward‐based teaching
12. Liaise with patients' and families regarding progress and discharge planning
13. Clinic attendance (e.g. spasticity clinic) for educational and training
14. Participation in Journal Club
15. Participation in on‐call roster (shared with 11 registrars)
What We're Looking For
16. Minimum two years of postgraduate experience
17. Intention or interest in training to become a Rehabilitation Physician
18. Enthusiastic applicants who enjoy working in a team environment
