About The Role
Ongoing full‐time. Band 3: Base salary $69,095 including Industry Allowance + Maintenance Allowance + 12% Superannuation. Fortnightly rostered day off. Multiple roles available.
The key objectives of the Seal Roads team are to undertake preventative maintenance activities to maximise the life of Council's road and road‐related assets.
Responsibilities
* Road maintenance – asphalting, road stabilising, shoulder maintenance, drainage maintenance, and culvert replacement.
* Ensure work complies with the Council's Road Management Plan and other infrastructure maintenance service levels.
* Assist members of the public with enquiries relating to maintenance operations.
* Pre‐operation inspections and routine maintenance of plant and equipment.
* Complete allocated work to an appropriate standard and procedure.
* Record activities undertaken, complete checks and traffic management via mobile phone.
* Traffic management.
* Safe operation and maintenance of Council tools and equipment.
Qualifications
* Reliable, with a great attitude and good attention to detail.
* Ability to communicate effectively with your team and the community.
* Relevant experience and sound knowledge of the operation of relevant plant, machinery and equipment utilised in road maintenance activities.
* Understanding of road maintenance principals.
* Civil‐related plant and equipment qualification and/or competencies (or willingness to obtain).
* Physically capable to carry out manual labouring tasks.
* Ability to understand and follow OH&S policies and procedures.
* Desirable current heavy vehicle licence.
* Current Victorian driver's licence.
