Reporting to the Australian General Manager, this role will focus on developing new business customers, contributing to the ongoing financial and operational performance for Gebrüder Weiss in Victoria. Key Accountabilities
* Solicit new business opportunities to contribute to the profitability of the business.
* Build and maintain long-term relationships with new and existing clients and ensure a high level of client satisfaction and retention.
* State P&L Management
* Be a part of developing and building country strategy with the leadership team.
* Supervise and strategise with direct reports to drive process improvement and achieve business goals.
* Work with suppliers to negotiate pricing and service levels.
* Manage monthly reports such as WIPs and accruals, and profit movement reports.
* Work to develop direct reports and ensure company KPIs are being achieved.
* Be responsible for the management of state costs.
Skills and Experience
* Sales development with a minimum 5 years field sales experience. (ideal next step for a sales manager/senior sales BD.)
* Previous people leadership experience with a focus on development.
* Minimum of 8 years of international freight forwarding experience.
* Demonstrated experience in transportation/freight forwarding sales.
* Proficiency with the Cargowise Operating System (CW1) considered an advantage.
* Experience preparing basic reports, queries, and operational information.
* Excellent interpersonal skills to build meaningful and long-lasting relationships.
* Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills.
