As a Boiler Assistant with Wilmar Sugar & Renewables you will be at the core of our operations, assisting the Boiler Operator with overseeing critical equipment, ensuring optimal steam generation and maintaining plant efficiency. This hands‐on role requires strict adherence to safety protocols and performance standards.
This position is located at Pioneer Mill in North Queensland's Burdekin region. It operates on a continuous rotating shift roster for approximately 10 months of the year, and on a day work schedule for the remainder of the year with reduced duties on most Fridays.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate with the Boiler Station and shift teams to keep operations running smoothly and safely.
* Take charge of turbine and auxiliary equipment start‐ups and shut‐downs, keeping the plant's energy flow in check.
* Manage the bagasse system with precision to ensure efficient operations.
* Inspect, troubleshoot, and handle boiler and auxiliary systems, reporting abnormalities.
* Actively contribute to work, health and safety standards, including risk assessments, job safety analyses, and participation in site safety programs.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with a \"can do\" attitude, sharp attention to detail and dedication to high‐quality standards. The ideal candidate will hold a High‐Risk Work License for Turbine Operator (TO) and an Advanced Boiler Operator (BA) certification, or be willing and able to achieve those competencies.
