A market-leading Australian business is appointing its first Head of AI to own enterprise AI strategy end to end. You will set the AI roadmap, build the operating model, and turn AI from scattered pilots into measurable P&L impact, because the value now sits in the implementation layer, not in which model you pick.
What you will do
* Own the enterprise AI strategy and the build-vs-buy calls behind it, including the shift from seat-based software to usage-based agent economics
* Stand up an agent operating model, not a pilot backlog: orchestration, governance, prioritisation, delivery and adoption, with the guardrails that stop agent sprawl
* Partner with the executive team to tie AI investment to revenue and cost outcomes
* Build and lead a multidisciplinary AI function across engineering, product and governance
* Set the responsible-AI bar and keep the business ahead of regulation
About you
* Track record leading AI or data transformation at scale in a complex Australian business
* Fluent across the full stack: strategy, delivery, commercial and risk, and across the agent stack from evals to orchestration
* You know that a large share of the gains comes from how the system is designed and prompted, not from the model badge
* Proven at influencing boards and executives and turning AI hype into shipped outcomes
* Comfortable owning a number, not just a roadmap
