Overview
The Department of Health seeks a highly motivated and experienced Radiation Therapist for a key leadership position at the WP Holman Clinic in Hobart, Tasmania.
The Clinic operates 3 Varian linear accelerators, a Canon CT simulator, Eclipse planning system and a Gulmay superficial x‐ray unit. Current techniques include IGRT, VMAT, DIBH, SBRT and SRT. It is part of the Cancer and Blood Services stream at the Royal Hobart Hospital, providing integrated radiation therapy, medical oncology and haematology services to Southern Tasmania.
Role
The Radiation Therapy Clinical Tutor will plan, develop and supervise education for undergraduate and postgraduate radiation therapy trainees within the Clinic, the Hospital and in collaboration with universities and the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia.
In consultation with senior clinical staff the tutor will identify, plan and implement continuing professional development education, training and activities for Radiation Therapists in the Clinic; develop and monitor mentoring programs for therapists re‐entering the profession; and provide education and training to allied health, nursing and medical staff as required.
Responsibilities
* Coordinate education and clinical practice requirements for radiation therapy students to ensure the needs of students, universities and professional bodies are met.
* Develop, implement and support continuing professional development for all radiation therapists and other clinic staff.
* Assist and advise on the implementation of new techniques, protocols and equipment while ensuring all staff receive adequate training in their use.

Qualifications & Experience
* Registered with the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia and maintain current registration/licences throughout employment.
* Postgraduate qualifications in education and/or qualifications relevant to radiation therapy are desirable.
Employment Details
Permanent, full‐time day worker (with on‐call) position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. Fixed‐term hours may be negotiated. Applicants will also be considered for up to twelve months for similar vacancies.
Salary and Benefits
Salary range $142,472 to $150,199 per annum with a 12 % superannuation contribution. Salary packaging and benefits include living expenses, meal entertainment, relocation assistance (up to $15,000 for overseas and $10,000 for interstate appointees), professional development, study leave, a fitness passport and a market allowance of 10 % of base salary until 31 March 2029.
