Overview
Port of Newcastle is seeking a Cyber Security and Technical Services Manager. This is a highly visible position that plays a critical role in maintaining operations, managing risk and supporting PON’s strategic initiatives. This is a key technical leadership role accountable for the comprehensive management and operational oversight across Cyber Security, IT Operations, Data Engineering, Technical Support, Network Operations, and Cloud Services. This role drives effective execution, ensures seamless integration, robust security, and efficient operations, consistently delivering high-quality and reliable technology solutions.
You will manage and develop a team of professionals providing support and strategic direction for the IT Service Management (ITSM) framework, ensuring seamless delivery of technical support and operational excellence. Acting as a trusted advisor on cyber security and IT best practices, you will engage with internal and external stakeholders to maintain alignment with PON’s objectives and best practice standards. This highly visible role is central to maintaining operational resilience and supporting PON’s ongoing transformation initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage Cyber Security, IT Operations, Data Engineering, Technical Support, Network Operations, and Cloud Services with comprehensive oversight.
- Develop and guide a team delivering IT Service Management (ITSM) framework, ensuring seamless technical support and operational excellence.
- Act as a trusted advisor on cyber security and IT best practices; engage stakeholders to align with organizational objectives and standards.
- Drive effective execution, integration, security, and reliable technology solutions across the organization.
Qualifications
- Experienced leader with a strong background in cyber security and IT operations.
- Tertiary qualifications in Cyber Security, Information Technology or a related field.
- Experience in a similar role with a strong understanding of cyber security risks, standards and governance requirements.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills; ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on technical leadership.
