An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Associate or Junior Senior Associate to join the highly regarded Property Disputes team of a leading national law firm. Working within a specialist disputes practice, you will gain exposure to complex, high-value litigation and advisory matters for sophisticated property sector clients, including major landlords, developers, shopping centre owners and property funds.
This role is ideal for a commercially minded disputes lawyer seeking to further develop their expertise in property and leasing disputes within a collaborative and high-performing environment.
About the Role
You will work closely with experienced senior practitioners on a broad range of complex disputes, including:
* Commercial and retail leasing disputes
* Misrepresentation and unconscionable conduct claims
* Lease termination, make good and abandonment disputes
* Relief against forfeiture applications and enforcement actions
* Contractual interpretation and retail leasing legislation matters
* Property-related insolvency and external administration issues
* Land sale and acquisition disputes
* Litigation across State and Federal Courts, as well as Tribunal proceedings
* Alternative dispute resolution processes, including mediations and conciliations
This position offers strong client exposure, increasing responsibility and the opportunity to develop a recognised specialisation in property disputes.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
* At least 4 years' post-admission experience within a reputable disputes practice
* Experience handling property and leasing disputes
* Strong drafting skills, including pleadings and evidence preparation
* Court appearance experience
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* The ability to manage multiple matters and competing deadlines
* A collaborative approach and interest in mentoring junior lawyers
* A client-focused and commercially minded approach to legal practice
