Heavy Diesel Mechanic Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team. As a Heavy Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for conducting servicing, maintenance, and repairs on Regional Group equipment.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in diesel engine repair and maintenance, with a strong knowledge of drivetrain, brakes, and suspension systems. You will work within workshop rules and regulations at all times, liaising with direct managers, supervisors, and managers daily.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct regular servicing and maintenance on Regional Group equipment including trucks, dozers, graders, compactors, rollers, excavators, and posi-tracks.
* Diagnose and repair faults in a timely and efficient manner.
* Work to tight schedules while maintaining the highest standards.
* Avoid and prevent downtime by implementing Lean practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you must possess:
* A current driver's license (HR preferred but not essential).
* Fully qualified as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic.
* Confident in all aspects of plant repairs.
* Sound knowledge of diesel engines and emissions.
* Sound knowledge of drivetrain, brakes, and suspension systems.
* Basic auto electrical knowledge.
* Competent with computers and digital diagnostics.
