About this Opportunity
The RFDS SA/NT is currently recruiting a suitably qualified and experienced individual to join our Mental Health Team. This opportunity is open to a:
- Mental Health Nurse
- Mental Health Clinician
- Aboriginal Mental Health Worker
Reporting directly to the Mental Health Service Manager, you will be inspired to deliver a stepped mental health service that is evidence‑based and culturally safe in the context of remote First Nations communities across regional and remote Australia.
You will be supported to deliver moderate‑intensity mental health services to clients who cannot access appropriate services due to living in remote locations or being ineligible for existing services. Delivering evidence‑based psychological interventions, you will utilise telephone, telehealth and face‑to‑face consulting methods to achieve positive outcomes for RFDS SA/NT clients.
You will be a vital resource to remote communities, ensuring you identify activities to further develop – and increase awareness of – mental health and emotional wellbeing services.
About You
- Experienced in the delivery of mental health interventions in line with National Standards for Mental Health Services and practices.
- Aware of treatment approaches for remote First Nations communities and associated healing practices.
- Experienced in integrating existing government and non‑government agencies and other human service providers in the planning and delivery of services.
- Experienced in implementing mental health and social and emotional wellbeing health promotion activities.
