We are seeking a highly motivated and technically astute Plant Engineer to ensure the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of our production facility in Kwinana, WA. This is a full‐time, permanent position (38 hours per week) where you will act as a key site leader—translating complex operational standards into a seamless, high‐performance safety culture while securing reliable supply for our critical customers.
Responsibilities
* Operational Integrity & Reliability: Manage the local site team and partner closely with stakeholders to maintain a continuous, highly reliable supply of quality‐assured gases. Coordinate daily routine maintenance and breakdown repairs with technical staff to meet production targets.
* Process Optimization & Innovation: Collaborate with Facility Managers, Support Managers, and other relevant stakeholders to design and implement plant efficiency programs. Develop operational standards and KPIs to track plant performance, actively seeking and implementing new strategies to reduce operational costs.
* HSEQ Compliance & Stakeholder Relations: Champion our "zero harm" culture by ensuring all safety procedures are rigorously applied by local teams. Manage documentation control, lead site audits, and serve as the primary on‐site focal point for customers, regulatory bodies, and unions.
* Reporting & Corporate Governance: Drive the reporting framework for our Large Industries activities, delivering precise data regarding site reliability, availability, and overall process efficiency to support board reports and strategic decision‐making.
Qualifications
* Educational Foundation: A completed Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
* Industry Experience: Proven professional experience within the industrial gas industry, or similar heavy chemical/process manufacturing environments, with direct exposure to plant operations, distribution networks, or filling centre.
* Regulatory & Technical Literacy: Deep understanding of work health and safety standards, dangerous goods/substances handling, and applicable regulatory frameworks.
* Critical Thinking & Problem Solving: Exceptional ability to interpret extensive and varied technical instructions, complex safety rules, operating manuals, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
* Leadership & Drive: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proactive approach to managing on‐site teams, coordinating contractors, and driving issues to completion.
Benefits
* Base salary of $80,000 - $87,000 per annum + Performance Bonus and Salary Continuance Insurance.
