About the Opportunity

The Clinical Midwifery Educator (CME) role within South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD) plays a vital part in strengthening clinical practice and enhancing patient outcomes through education, mentorship, and collaboration. This position focuses on supporting Maternity Services across the Postnatal and Antenatal ward and MSP, providing hands‑on clinical guidance and delivering high‑quality education programs that reflect best practice and contemporary midwifery standards.

Working in partnership with the Midwifery Unit Managers, Clinical Midwifery Consultant and fellow Educators, the CME ensures that midwifery staff and students are supported to deliver safe, compassionate, and evidence‑based care to women and their families. The role champions professional growth, clinical excellence and a culture of lifelong learning within the maternity team.

What You’ll be Doing

Deliver and evaluate clinical education programs in consultation with Management, Midwifery Educators and Clinical Midwifery Consultants, to support the delivery of clinical best practice, patient service and enhanced patient outcomes.

Bankstown‑Lidcombe Hospital is located in the city of Bankstown and is in one of the most multicultural local government areas (LGA) in Australia. This hospital has tertiary affiliations with three universities and offers a range of roles and experiences to employees.

The hospital receives highly diverse presentations in ED as well as having general medical and surgical services and subspecialty services across the hospital. - Current Authority to Practice as a Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Relevant clinical or education post registration qualifications or such education and clinical experience deemed appropriate Successfully completed or working towards a tertiary qualification in clinical education and/or clinical training or a current technical qualification in workplace training and assessment.
