Environment & Heritage Officer - Karratha Based (No FIFO)
Yindjibarndi Energy Corporation (YEC) is seeking a passionate an Environment and Heritage Coordinator to support the on‐ground delivery of environmental and cultural heritage requirements across YEC projects. Based in Karratha, this hands‐on role works closely with Traditional Owners, contractors, consultants and internal teams to ensure field activities are conducted safely, respectfully and in compliance with regulatory approvals, cultural protocols and YEC values.
Reporting to the WHSEH Manager, this role is ideal for someone who thrives in the field, values strong relationships, and is committed to protecting Country while supporting major renewable energy developments.

Yindjibarndi Energy Corporation (YEC) is a partnership between Yindjibarndi Aboriginal Corporation (YAC) and international renewable energy company, ACEN Corporation (ACEN). Representing one of the largest Indigenous‐led renewable energy initiatives in Australia, YEC will see the Yindjibarndi people and ACEN work together to develop wind, solar, and renewable energy storage projects on Yindjibarndi Ngurra (country) – an area covering approximately 13,000 km2 within the Yindjibarndi Native Title Determination Areas in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate and deliver environmental and heritage field programs, surveys and monitoring activities
* Work collaboratively with Traditional Owners to ensure culturally safe and respectful field practices
* Support environmental and heritage risk management, assurance activities and investigations
* Coordinate site activity registers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
* Support internal and external audits, reporting and compliance requirements
* Identify and elevate emerging risks, non‐compliances and improvement opportunities
* Collaborate with Stakeholder Engagement teams to support on‐Country engagement and communication
What You'll Bring
* Experience working in environmental and/or heritage roles, ideally with Indigenous communities or native title matters
* Strong understanding of environmental and heritage legislation, standards and best practice
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* Confidence working in field‐based and remote environments
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage logistics and schedules
* Willingness to travel and work flexible arrangements to support field programs
* Experience with GIS mapping and field data collection, and working in multidisciplinary teams, will be highly regarded.
