About the Company
A global leader in renewable energy technology is expanding its footprint into large-scale energy storage through a newly established Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) business unit. To support this strategic growth, the company is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager – Utility-Scale BESS to drive market development and project origination across the utility and grid-scale segments.
Key Responsibilities
* Originate and develop large-scale BESS project opportunities across key target markets.
* Establish and manage relationships with developers, IPPs, utilities, and investors.
* Negotiate partnerships, joint ventures, and project acquisition opportunities.
* Collaborate with internal technical, legal, and finance teams to structure bankable projects.
* Lead responses to RFPs, tenders, and customer proposals.
* Track and interpret policy developments, market mechanisms, and storage incentives.
* Represent the company in industry events, government consultations, and stakeholder meetings.
* Support strategic planning and market entry initiatives for the new business unit.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, or related discipline (MBA desirable).
* Minimum 7+ years of business development experience in renewables, energy storage, or power generation.
* Strong knowledge of utility‑scale project development cycles, storage technologies, and revenue models.
* Proven success in closing complex infrastructure or energy transactions.
* Excellent negotiation, financial modeling and stakeholder management skills.
* Analytical and strategic thinker with the ability to work autonomously.
* Comfortable working in a high‑growth, evolving business environment.
