The Financial Advisory Team at Teneo
Teneosglobal Financial Advisory (FA) Clients & Industries team is responsible for driving and coordinating a broad range of business development activities for our client-facing Financial Advisory teams across the globe. Members of the Clients & Industries team operate seamlessly with fee-earning staff in a fully integrated way and work day-to-day alongside a wider range of our client-facing professionals across different areas of our business to ensure our programmes are running effectively and with maximum impact.
Being part of this team offers early exposure to senior staff and the whole gamut of Teneos FA practice globally with a fast-paced client-oriented and highly collaborative environment.
The Role
This newly created role, driven by the recent acquisition of PwC's Australian Restructuring practice, will support the Australian team to liaise with and leverage the capabilities of the wider global C&I. Initially assisting within integration of business development and origination activity and in times supporting the longer-term growth of the practice.
The Business Development Executive will report directly to a Senior Managing Director.
Responsibilities
Prioritise and structure our research and origination initiatives, undertaking a range of quantitative and qualitative analyses to identify, develop and prioritise leads and opportunities.
Manage our research subscriptions, relationships and budget.
Help to supervise the day-to-day management of the workflow to and from our offshore research service provider.
Understand our suite of research tools and how they are used and manage the Australian team's access to those tools.
Help to produce materials for client discussion documents and insight pieces, including liaising with Teneos central marketing and design teams in New York to facilitate the production and dissemination of go-to-market materials.
Provide administration support for the New Business Committee, including pipeline tracking and reporting.
Support our account teams by providing relationship holders with relevant insight and credentials from all parts of our global firm to support specific pursuits and proposals.
Work closely and collaboratively with sector teams, channel teams and global C&I team members to develop materials that can articulate interesting, compelling views on current market themes.
Liaise with our central marketing team around the maintenance and ongoing development of our website and CRM systems.
Support senior client-facing staff with the planning and execution of client events.
Assist with annual budgeting for FA's Australian research and marketing function, helping to assess and balance our investment priorities.
Undertake a range of other adhoc activities related to work-winning and business development as required by the business.
Requirements
A high level of commercial acumen and genuine intellectual curiosity about the business world and financial markets.
2-5 years experience in business development, including supporting pitches and bids.
Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work in a global matrix environment and to communicate effectively with multiple senior stakeholders.
Strong organisational skills, including effective time-management and the ability to work on several projects simultaneously.
Strong PowerPoint skills and intermediate Excel skills.
Willingness to coordinate and drive a range of BD activities in a proactive, timely manner.
Ability to think independently.
Strong written communication skills, with clear, succinct and accurate English.
Flexible, proactive attitude capable of pivoting rapidly to new priorities on short notice.
Bloomberg, CapIQ, FactSet or similar sources will be helpful but are not essential for a candidate who can demonstrate an aptitude and enthusiasm for learning how to use them.
