We are seeking part time and/or full time permanent midwives with a passion for providing current evidence based care in collaboration with women and the wider health care team. Our midwives enjoy working across the service in all areas of midwifery with a work life balance that 12 hour shifts provide. There is chance to have input into the future development of evidence-based models of care for women and families. As a postnatal midwife there will be support for gaining additional skills in areas such as lactation, women's health and psychosocial wellbeing. Our amazing birthing and maternity facilities, include spacious birthing rooms with large birth pools, latest K2 monitoring systems, and Level 4 SCN providing options for all levels of maternity care.

As a midwife at Northern Beaches Hospital you will have opportunities to use your skills across the full scope of maternity care, with women having choices from continuity of care models right through to private obstetric care. The hospital also features an Emergency Department, ICU, state-of-the-art theatres, world‑class education centre with SIM lab, and excellent staff facilities including café and car parking. We are proud to be home to some of Australia’s leading clinical specialists and a training ground for the clinicians of the future. The Northern Beaches Clinical School is an innovative partnership with the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Human Sciences at Macquarie University. Northern Beaches Hospital also has partnerships with other tertiary education institutions including well‑respected nursing and midwifery schools. Responsibilities

- Providing high standards of evidence-based midwifery care to women of varying ages and cultural groups
- Planning, assessing, implementing and evaluating midwifery care in collaboration with women, their families and the multidisciplinary team to achieve identified goals and health outcomes
- Guiding and mentor junior and undergraduate midwives in provision of midwifery care
- Working collaboratively with the wider healthcare team to support patient care needs
- Being passionate about delivering an exceptional patient experience for women and their families.

Qualifications

- Current Registration as a Midwife with AHPRA
- Bachelor of Midwifery or Graduate Diploma in Midwifery (if Bachelor of Nursing is first qualification) or equivalent
- Highly developed clinical skills across the continuum of maternity care - with a desire to focus on postnatal
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Commitment to family-focused approach to care

If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope and NSWNMA/ANMF – NSW Nurses and Midwives’ – Enterprise Agreement with a salary range between $35.46 - $49.79/hour soon to be increased by 10% via the newly agreed Enterprise Agreement.

Applicants will be required to provide a current (12 months or less) National Police check and a NSW Working with Children’s Check, prior to appointment and persons in patient contact roles will be required to provide proof of immunity to specified infectious diseases prior to commencement.
