Occupational Therapist Role
This role involves providing high-quality occupational therapy services to clients and patients in a diverse and welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide direct occupational therapy services to clients and patients on an individual or group level for both inpatients and outpatients.
* Complete comprehensive patient assessments, including personal care, domestic and community ADLs, assessment of the home environment, cognitive and functional physical assessment as required.
* Develop and implement treatment plans to match functional goals, and coordinate the provision of special aids and equipment requirements of patients if needed.
* Consult and support medical, nursing, catering and allied health professionals within the team as necessary.
* Responsible for completing administrative duties arising from each session instructed, including liaison with the administration team, reporting of statistical data and completion of clinical documentation.
* Participate in multidisciplinary activities, such as team meetings, ward rounds, or case conferences as required.
* Contribute to education programs within the service and for caregivers, and participate in other assigned activities.
* Supervise, instruct, and assess students in approved clinical teaching programs in collaboration with the Supervisor/Manager.
Requirements:
* A tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy is required.
* Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) is also necessary.
* Demonstrated knowledge and skills in assessment, treatment, and evaluation within Occupational Therapy practice are essential.
* Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate using technology, are required.
* A current C-Class Drivers' Licence is essential for this role.
