Senior Executive Support Officer – Queensland Government
We’re hiring a Senior Executive Support Officer to deliver a suite of business administrative and corporate governance functions, including financial management practices and processes, analysis of budget and financial reporting, and human resource management support.
Responsibilities
* Provide timely, high‑level advice and support to senior team members, management and other key stakeholders on corporate governance, administrative functions, finance and HR policies.
* Coordinate and compile information to facilitate analysis of budget and financial performance, including ongoing monitoring and reporting for relevant branch/business units.
* Provide high‑level advice on financial management matters and establishment management.
* Contribute to the unit's reporting, including annual report, budget submissions, strategic plans, ministerial portfolio statements and estimates briefs.
* Coordinate the preparation of the annual budget and workforce plan for the Business Units in consultation with unit managers and Directors.
* Oversee financial management practices and processes, including corporate card usage.
* Lead the purchase, stocktake and management of assets, inventory items and other goods and services.
* Coordinate program responses to audits, stocktakes, system appraisals and other corporate governance requirements.
* Provide advice to business groups and senior officers on workforce management issues.
* Support HR and finance compliance activities within the branch/unit.
* Provide advice on effective use of utilities and facilities, including vehicles, telecommunications and accommodation.
* Manage complex workloads, meet deadlines and commitments and complete tasks within a tight timeframe independently or within a team.
* Foster a workplace culture that supports and promotes the interests of First Nations people and actively engage to contribute to better outcomes for First Nations people.

Qualifications
* Demonstrated skills, knowledge, and ability in managing and providing advice on a wide range of business services functions, including public sector legislation, directives, policies and procedures relating to finance, budgeting and human resources.
* Demonstrated ability to undertake research, analysis and investigation into HR and financial issues and implement effective solutions.
* Demonstrated ability to support the branch through providing high‑quality service delivery to clients.
* Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective coordination of business processes.
* Strong communication skills with influence, and the ability to supervise a small team, mentor and provide guidance.
