About the Role
As Head Chef, you will take ownership of all kitchen operations, leading a diverse team while maintaining high standards of food quality, consistency, safety and profitability.
* Leading and motivating a high-performing kitchen team
* Managing service across busy lunch, dinner and event periods
* Delivering high-volume service without compromising quality
* Recruiting, rostering, training and mentoring kitchen staff
* Developing, costing and executing menus
* Managing food costs, stock control and supplier relationships
* Maintaining compliance with food safety, health and workplace standards
* Driving kitchen culture, accountability and continuous improvement
What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you'll bring:
* Proven experience as a Head Chef in a high-volume pub
* Demonstrated success delivering large service periods in condensed timeframes
* Strong experience managing high-volume event days and functions
* Experience using Deputy for rostering and workforce management
* Experience recruiting, developing and leading kitchen teams
* Strong menu development and menu costing skills
* Excellent leadership and delegation skills
* Experience leading multicultural teams
* Sound computer literacy and administrative skills
* Experience using Lightyear for invoice processing
* Thorough understanding of food safety, WHS and compliance requirements
* Relevant culinary qualifications or equivalent industry experience
