Bacino Bar Espresso is growing, and we're looking for an experienced Head Chef / Head of Kitchen to join our team at our café in Manly, with support across our locations in Curl Curl and Balgowlah.

About the Head Chef Role
As Head Chef at Bacino, you'll be the heart of the kitchen — leading the team, overseeing daily operations, and ensuring every dish that leaves the pass reflects our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. This role is as much about leadership and collaboration as it is about culinary skill.
The ideal candidate will be able to:
* Lead the kitchen team in food preparation, cooking, and presentation to a consistently high standard.
* Collaborate with management to develop seasonal menus that reflect Bacino's culinary philosophy.
* Train and mentor kitchen staff, supporting their growth and skill development.
* Manage inventory, ordering, and stock control to minimise waste and keep costs on track.
* Ensure full compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations at all times.
* Coordinate with suppliers to source quality ingredients at favourable terms.
* Oversee smooth kitchen operations across opening, service, and close.
* Actively engage with customers around dietary needs and special requests.
* Continuously seek opportunities for menu innovation and improvement.
* Lead by example — with professionalism, integrity, and a positive attitude every day.

* Proven experience in a kitchen leadership role.
* A genuine passion for food and delivering exceptional dining experiences.
* Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate a team.
* Creativity and initiative in menu development, with a focus on seasonal ingredients.
* Solid knowledge of food safety regulations and kitchen hygiene best practices.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask under pressure.
* Reliability, a positive attitude, and alignment with Bacino's values of teamwork and integrity.
