The Opportunity
We are seeking a proactive and motivated professional to join our People & Culture team as the State Learning & Development Specialist for Queensland .
Working closely with P & C Business Partners, Advisors and operational leaders, you'll drive and accelerate club performance in Queensland by delivering high‑impact training and partnering with Operations and P & C Generalists to identify and close skill and performance gaps. This will improve readiness, performance and consistency at our club level.
As the State L&D Specialist you will also contribute to program design, support face‑to‑face learning delivery and play a key role in state coaching, capability uplift and broader L&D initiatives across FLG.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Learning Delivery & Facilitation
* Deliver engaging face‑to‑face workshops across leadership, sales, customer service, coaching and other bespoke programs as required
* Facilitate workshops across all FLG brands
State Capability Support
* Embed within state operations, working collaboratively with Regional and State leaders to identify local needs
* Partner with the P & C Generalist team to address recurring issues, performance challenges and training‑related operational problems
Content Development and Instructional Design
* Work closely with the L&D Team Lead and key stakeholders to identify learning needs and propose targeted solutions
* Contribute to the design and development of training content, resources and digital learning materials
* Actively contribute to national L&D initiatives, project work and continuous improvement activities
* Share insights from state trends to influence program updates, new content and process improvements
General
* Maintain accurate records of training attendance, completion and competency status
* Manage workshop logistics including scheduling, venue coordination and preparation of materials
About you
Self‑motivated with a can‑do attitude you have excellent interpersonal and strong communication skills, can work confidentially with a range of stakeholders and present with:
* Experience working with multiple stakeholders
* Experience managing competing priorities and contributing to project work
* Experience in managing/leading projects
* Understanding of Learning Management Systems
* A natural, motivational and influential communicator
* Flexibility to travel across different sites within the capital city to run face‑to‑face workshops
* High‑level organisational skills
* Able to prioritise workload, strong time‑management skills and ability to meet deadlines – this is a fast‑paced role with many moving parts
* Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain ongoing relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
* Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
* Instructional design experience or exposure to content development
* Background in fitness, sales, coaching or customer service
* Experience using LMS platforms and authoring tools (Articulate 360 desirable)
