Job Overview
We're seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Delivery Operations Specialist to join our team. This role involves optimizing transport resources, managing daily delivery schedules, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless operations.
This position requires flexibility, as it involves working a rotating roster with weekend shifts. You'll play a critical role in supporting the success of our Delivery Professionals by providing efficient and safe delivery experiences.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in transport or logistics, with a proven track record of successfully managing complex operations. They'll be able to work autonomously, think critically, and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
* Allocation & Scheduling: Manage the daily schedule of deliveries and vehicle requirements according to volume and requirements
* Collaboration: Work closely with Delivery Professionals and other cross-functional teams to ensure smooth execution of daily delivery operations
* Problem-Solving: Handle operational issues on the day of delivery ensuring timely resolution of any disruptions or challenges
* Customer Focus: Support the customer experience by ensuring that deliveries meet or exceed expectations
* Compliance & Safety: Ensure that all allocations adhere to principles of Chain of Responsibility (COR) and safety standards
* Process Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs and enhance customer experience
* Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of delivery schedules and relevant operational metrics
Required Skills & Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
* Strong industry experience in transport or logistics, preferably with Transport Management Systems (TMS)
* Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to build relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders
* Multitasking ability, with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and conflicting priorities
* Problem-solving skills, with ability to resolve issues promptly and minimize disruption to operations
* Good understanding of local and interstate logistics, an advantage
