Podmore's Building Supplies is seeking a committed and Customer-focused Sales Assistant to join our team in Margaret River, WA. In this full‐time role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and driving sales for our wide range of building supplies and home improvement products. This is a diverse role and will suit an individual seeking a dynamic position with a blend of office and 'on your feet' tasks.
What you'll be doing
* Providing friendly and knowledgeable customer service to both retail and trade customers
* Assisting customers in selecting the right products to meet their needs
* Processing sales orders and handling adhoc enquiries
* Providing quantity estimates and quotations
* Monitoring customer orders and deliveries
* Ordering stock and retrieval of goods inbound
* Loading and unloading of customer and delivery vehicles
* Identifying and pursuing sales opportunities to grow our customer base
* Contributing to a positive and collaborative team environment
What we're looking for
* At least 1 year of experience in a sales or customer service role, preferably within the building/hardware industry
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a genuine passion for customer service
* Excellent product knowledge and the ability to provide technical advice to customers
* Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
* Proficient in using computerised point‐of‐sale and inventory management systems
* A team player with a positive attitude and the ability to work in a fast‐paced environment
* Forklift licence is advantageous but not essential
