Cordina Farms is a leading Australian market player in the 'Value Added' sector. We are seeking a Rearing Farm Manager for our new facility in Goulburn, NSW. The role involves managing day‑to‑day farm operations with livestock, working after hours and weekends, and staying on site in provided company accommodation.
Responsibilities
* Manage breeding and raising livestock.
* Monitor and maintain livestock health and condition.
* Move livestock to optimise feeding opportunities.
* Conduct farming operations such as catching, sterilising machines, collecting, grading and packaging produce.
* Oversee general farming activities, including shed maintenance.
* Maintain fences, equipment and water supply systems.
* Organise transportation of livestock and produce.
* Maintain and evaluate records of farming activities, monitoring market activity and planning production accordingly.
* Recruit, train and supervise staff and contractors.
* Ensure optimum daily farm performance of the flock.
* Prioritise staffing requirements and workload.
* Operate machinery, plant and equipment proficiently.
* Manage feed, bird collection and daily shed servicing.
* Weigh birds weekly accurately.
* Maintain accurate record keeping.
* Coordinate contract vaccination and grading crews.
* Monitor animal welfare and production quality.
* Respond to alarms any time of day or night.
* Understand WH&S practices.
* Follow company policies on animal welfare, environmental standards and biosecurity.
* Analyse and improve overall operational efficiency.
Skills and Experience
* Relevant Bachelor’s degree.
* Minimum 5 years relevant experience.
* Experience in the poultry industry in a supervisory or managerial role.
* Strong communication and leadership skills.
* Proficiency with WH&S requirements and site management.
* Self‑managing and proactive with excellent site management capabilities.
Compensation
Salary range $90,000 – $110,000 plus competitive package.
