Lessons can take place face to face at a student's home or at our NSW campuses in Chatswood, Hornsby and Norwest. They may also take place online if a student prefers online lessons!
Do I have to tutor certain hours?
The great news about tutoring jobs with Art of Smart is that they are the flexible working hours! You can set your own availability that fits around your university and work schedule.
How many hours can I work?
We require you to work with a minimum of 3 students. The hours you work will vary depending on the age of the student as senior students prefer 1.5 hour lessons whereas younger students prefer 1 hour lessons. We estimate that with 3 students, you would work between 3 to 4.5 hours a week. The more students you take on, the more hours you can work!
Can I choose which subjects I tutor?
Yes, we give you the opportunity to select the subjects you are confident in tutoring at the time of onboarding. We will only assign students that require tutoring in subjects you teach.
Do I have to look for students?
Not at all! We have a dedicated full-time administration team that work around the clock to assign you students and support you with any questions or resources you may need.
Is there any training involved?
Yes, there is an online onboarding course that you will need to complete before we can assign you any students. In this process, you'll familiarise yourself with AoS policies and procedures, access our digital and physical resources and learn how to log tutoring hours.
Do I get access to teaching resources?
Art of Smart has developed comprehensive tutoring resources for K-12! We provide both printed resource books and digital resources accessed via our AoS Online desktop and mobile applications that are available for you to use during tutoring.
When will I get my first student?
Our team aims to get you started with a student as soon as possible! This usually depends on the subjects you teach, your availability and tutoring locations as well as how this matches a customer's enquiry.
Do I need any qualifications?
Yes, you must have completed your schooling in Australia and have achieved an ATAR over 90. Alternatively, you must be studying a Bachelor of Education (with an ATAR over 80) or completing a Masters of Education.
I've never tutored before, can I still apply?
Absolutely! With our comprehensive training process, administration support and mentoring plus digital and physical resources, we'll equip you with the skills needed to provide an exceptional learning experience!
