About the Role
This role supports qualified welders in the manufacture of silo components within our workshop at Shea Oak Log. You will work hands-on with mild steel and galvanised materials, assisting with welding preparation, equipment setup, and general workshop duties. This is an excellent opportunity for someone motivated to develop welding skills and progress within a stable, supportive team environment. Safety, reliability and a willingness to learn are essential.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with MIG welding and fabrication tasks under the guidance of experienced welders.
* Prepare materials, set up equipment and support general workshop production activities.
* Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools and machinery as required.
* Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety procedures and guidelines.
Carry out additional duties within skill level and direction of supervisors.
Skills and Experience
* Strong work ethic with reliable attendance.
* Willingness to learn.
* Ability to work safely and follow site procedures.
* Physically capable with good coordination and manual dexterity.
* Positive team attitude with the ability to work independently when required.
* Previous welding or workshop experience.
* Forklift licence, White Card or Working at Heights ticket.
* Experience in manufacturing, fabrication or construction environments.
Crane operating skills or familiarity with workshop machinery.
