Reporting directly to the Branch Manager, this is a hands‐on leadership role where you'll be accountable for the day-to-day performance of a compliant, efficient, and safety‐first operation.
This is a long‐term, permanent position suited to someone who thrives under pressure, leads by example, and holds themselves and their team to the highest standards.
What You'll Be Doing
* Championing a genuine safety‐first culture across all operational activity — every shift, every day
* Leading the scheduling and dispatch of bulk dangerous goods transport in full compliance with the ADG Code, WAHVA, Heavy Vehicle Standards, and relevant WHS legislation
* Managing fleet presentation, maintenance standards, and roadworthiness across the depot
* Driving resource planning and allocation to meet customer commitments on time and within cost
* Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal teams, clients, and regulatory bodies
* Identifying operational improvements and delivering solutions in a fast‐paced, dynamic environment
* Developing, coaching, and performance‐managing a team of transport professionals
* Reporting on operational KPIs and contributing to branch performance outcomes
What You'll Bring
* Proven experience in a transport operations management role, ideally within bulk dangerous goods or hazardous materials
* Solid working knowledge of the ADG Code (Australian Dangerous Goods), WAHVA, Heavy Vehicle Standards, and WHS requirements
* Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing and developing frontline transport teams
* Above average computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
* Excellent communication skills — clear, direct, and professional with both internal and external stakeholders
* A solutions‐focused mindset with the ability to make confident decisions under pressure
* High attention to detail and the organisational discipline to keep a complex operation running smoothly
* Flexibility to meet the demands of a 24/7 transport environment
What Booth Transport Offers
* A permanent, full‐time role with a nationally recognised industry leader
