The Opportunity
Ashurst's bold 2027 strategy involves significant investment in our Corporate Transactions teams across Australia.
We are seeking Lawyers with strong M&A experience specifically within the energy and/or infrastructure sectors to join our Corporate Transactions team in Sydney.
This role is ideal for someone looking to make a long-term commitment to their career in corporate law within a firm that will back their development and ambitions.
What We're Looking For
* Proven M&A experience, ideally gained at a leading firm (2 years + PQE)
* Experience within the energy and infrastructure sector is preferred, or a keen interest to develop skills in this space
* Excellent technical and drafting skills
* A commercial mindset and ability to provide strategic advice
* Strong team orientation, with the drive to mentor and support junior colleagues
* Commitment to building long-term client relationships

* Sojitz / Capella: acting for Sojitz in relation to the acquisition of Capella.
* Endeavour Energy / Edwards Consortium: acting for the private owners of Endeavour Energy in relation to Endeavour Energy's participation in the ACEREZ Consortium, the selected proponent for the Central West Orana Renewable Energy Zone, including the equity and investment arrangements with Acciona and Cobra.
* Ark Energy: acting or Ark Energy in relation to its investment into the McIntyre Wind Farm, one of Australia's largest wind farms.
* JJ Richards: acting for Basalt Infrastructure in relation to the acquisition of JJ Richards.
* Sun Cable: acting for the administrators on the sale process for Australia's largest renewable energy project.
* Gippsland Offshore Wind Projects: acting for multiple successful proponents in relation to the corporate and FIRB aspects of approved offshore wind projects.
