Senior Dental Assistant — Embrace Orthodontists Belconnen | Manuka | Gungahlin Full-time | Competitive salary based on experience
Embrace Orthodontists is Canberra's leading clear aligner provider, and we're looking for an experienced Senior Dental Assistant to join our team across our three ACT practices. This is a step up from a traditional DA role — we want someone who's ready to take ownership of clinical systems, drive consistency across our sites, and play a key role in how we deliver care.
About the role
You'll work chairside with our orthodontists while also taking the lead on the operational side of clinical delivery. Day to day, you'll move between patient care, systems, and team coordination — making sure our clinics run to a consistently high standard.
Key responsibilities
* Chairside assisting across all three practices, including aligner and fixed appliance procedures
* Owning and maintaining our clinical Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) — keeping them current, accurate, and embedded across the team
* Managing our clinical performance dashboard and reporting on key metrics
* Liaising with the clinical team on Dental Monitoring (DM) insights — flagging treatment progress, escalating cases, and supporting clinicians to act on remote monitoring data
* Sterilisation, lab duties, and clinic housekeeping
* Supporting the onboarding and training of newer DAs
What we're looking for
* Minimum 3+ years' experience as a Dental Assistant or in a dental administration role
* Orthodontic experience strongly preferred (Dental Monitoring experience is a bonus)
* Strong organisational skills and confidence working with clinical systems and dashboards
* Excellent communication skills — you'll be the bridge between clinicians, admin, and management
* Professional presentation and a genuinely patient-focused approach
* Willingness to travel between Belconnen, Manuka, and Gungahlin
