Location: Smithton, TAS/Ballarat, VIC; Salary Range: $100k - $125k
Job Purpose Reporting to the Finance Manager, Manufacturing, this position is pivotal in assisting the Smithton Potato Plant in achieving business objectives. The position is responsible for providing financial leadership to the local team by providing insightful analysis, leading & recommending solutions and driving change. Strong influencing skills will be critical to success in the role as the role partners with senior stakeholders. The primary focus of the role will be in partnering the manufacturing side of the business.
Key Accountabilities
Provide timely and accurate financial information to the Plant and Regional Teams that aids in day to day decision making
Provide financial guidance and direction to the Plant Team to support decision making outcomes
Drive and play a leading role in the preparation of the annual Budget and periodical Forecasts, ensuring the accountability and ownership is embedded in the Plant
Identify gaps to the annual Budget/periodical Forecasts and work with the Plant Team to address them and drive outcomes
Ensure accurate reporting of financial month end/year end results
Reporting, tracking, verifying Sustainable Cost Advantage initiatives to ensure delivery against targets.
Provide financial support for NPD launches
Responsible for accuracy of standard costs
Supporting capital expenditure requests with financial analysis;
Actively participate in knowledge sharing across ANZ, to drive standardisation of best practice in reporting and processes;
Training and Development
Acquire and maintain the skills and knowledge to demonstrate competent performance
In consultation with line manager and HR, identify training and development needs and undertake appropriate training/education as required and agreed.
Participate in an annual individual performance review and process where objectives will be agreed, performance monitored and personal development needs discussed.
Demonstrate and support McCain's Values and Core Competencies within the work environment
Attend and complete all compliance and mandatory business wide training as and when required to do so.
Manage performance in line with McCain's people policies as applicable
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Bachelor of Accounting/Bachelor of Business, CPA/CA desirable
Verifiable experience in Financial and Inventory Management with relevant industry qualifications.
Demonstrated knowledge of Manufacturing Processes, Cost Analysis, Warehouse Management Systems and Financial Management Systems.
Experience in a Food manufacturing environment desirable.
SAP knowledge is an advantage.
