Senior Site Civil Engineer – Hope Downs 1 Sustaining Project
Employment Type: 12-month Contract. Location: Hope Downs 1 Sustaining Site, Western Australia.
Role Overview
The Senior Site Civil Engineer will play a key role in the delivery of civil works on the Hope Downs 1 Sustaining Project. This position is responsible for providing on‑site engineering leadership across bulk earthworks and haul road construction activities while ensuring contractor performance, safety, quality, and schedule compliance. This is a hands‑on, site‑based FIFO role suited to an experienced civil engineer with strong contractor management capability and proven experience in large‑scale mining or heavy industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide on‑site civil engineering support across bulk earthworks and haul road construction activities.
* Manage and supervise civil contractors, ensuring compliance with project scope, specifications, schedule, and safety requirements.
* Coordinate daily construction activities with site execution and project management teams.
* Review and interpret engineering drawings, designs, and technical documentation.
* Monitor construction progress and provide regular reporting on productivity, risks, and constraints.
* Ensure works are delivered in accordance with relevant standards, drawings, and project procedures.
* Identify and manage construction issues, variations, and technical risks as they arise.
* Promote and uphold safety leadership, ensuring compliance with site HSE requirements.
* Support commissioning, handover, and close‑out activities as required.
Key Experience & Requirements
* Degree qualification in Civil Engineering.
* Extensive experience in bulk earthworks on mining or large‑scale infrastructure project.
* Proven experience in haul road construction and maintenance.
* Strong contractor management and supervision capability.
* Demonstrated experience working in FIFO site environments.
