About the role
NSW Public Works (NSW PW) is part of the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development and supports local and state government agencies to deliver critical infrastructure initiatives by providing expert advisory, planning, design, delivery and support services.
We are seeking a highly skilled Executive Assistant to provide strategic executive and business administration support to the Director, Construction Procurement & Emergency Management. This role is temporary for 2 years and based in Newcastle. The role ensures the effective operation of the office and optimal use of the Director's time and resources.
Beyond traditional support, this role assists with business development and client engagement as well as communications, marketing and operational efficiencies. Your ability to anticipate needs, manage priorities and streamline executive functions will be key to success.

About You
To thrive in this role, you will:
* Deliver high‐quality executive and administrative support, exercising discretion, initiative, and confidentiality to support the achievement of organisational objectives.
* Prepare and refine key business documents, including minutes, agendas, presentations, correspondence, reports, briefing notes and submissions.
* Manage the Director's time commitments and diary to ensure urgent matters are prioritised and make the most efficient use of resources.
* Build, maintain, and maximise relationships with staff, clients and stakeholders and play an active role in the development of a positive culture.
* Leverage technology and digital tools to enhance productivity across multiple locations and to prepare documentation and presentation material to support the Director and client engagement practices, aligned with other directorates and organisational objectives.
* Demonstrate initiative and adaptability, balancing priorities in a fast‐paced environment with a 'can do' attitude.
* Develop and maintain relationships between the Director's office and key internal and external stakeholders by providing positive and efficient client services.
* Experience or exposure to the infrastructure projects/programs advisory and delivery sectors will be an advantage as well as working in/with NSW state government.
* Hold a current NSW Driver Licence and be willing to travel to regional and remote locations, including overnight stays.
