We are seeking a
Learning Design and Development Specialist
to support the delivery of key organisational training initiatives with one of our large government clients. This role plays a critical part in designing, developing, and delivering engaging learning solutions that enable staff to build capability and confidently adopt new systems and processes.
Key Responsibilities
Learning Design and Development
* Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), project leads, and stakeholders to identify learning needs, define learning outcomes, and determine the most effective delivery methods.
* Design and develop engaging learning solutions that align with organisational goals and implementation plans.
* Create and maintain a variety of training materials, including eLearning modules, videos, facilitator guides, quick reference guides, job aids, and assessments using modern authoring tools.
* Ensure all content is accessible, inclusive, and tailored to diverse learner groups across the organisation.
* Maintain version control and documentation of all training assets.
* Maintain knowledge of organisational data management and business systems, including DevOps, user acceptance testing (UAT) and automated testing, ensuring training remains relevant and aligned with business needs.
* Utilise digital tools such as Microsoft 365 and learning management systems to enhance training delivery.
* Ensure compliance with Queensland Government and organisational ICT policies and standards.
Training Delivery and Facilitation
* Deliver engaging and effective training sessions (virtual and in-person) to end users, change advocates, super users, and other stakeholder groups.
* Support train-the-trainer initiatives and mentor internal trainers to maintain consistent delivery standards.
* Gather feedback from training sessions to continuously improve content and delivery methods.
Stakeholder Engagement
* Partner with project, change management, communications, and business readiness teams to align training with broader organisational change initiatives.
* Liaise with business units to schedule training, manage logistics, and ensure learner participation.
About You
You are an experienced
Learning Designer or Trainer
with a strong background in instructional design, stakeholder collaboration, and facilitation. You are creative, detail-oriented, and passionate about designing impactful learning experiences that drive successful organisational change.
Essential skills and experience:
* Proven experience in learning design, instructional design, or a similar role within large or complex organisations.
* Proficiency with eLearning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate 360, Rise, Captivate, or similar).
* Experience delivering both virtual and face-to-face training sessions.
* Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Understanding of government or ICT environments is highly desirable.
