About Us
Our client is a family owned insurance broker who help Tasmanian businesses protect what matters most through tailored commercial insurance solutions and proactive client partnerships. As part of their continued growth, they're looking for a high-performing Business Development Manager to join their team and drive new client relationships across the state.
About the Role
This is a key role focused on developing and nurturing long-term business relationships with Tasmanian organisations. You'll identify new opportunities, engage decision-makers, and provide professional advice that supports clients in managing their business risks.
You don't need to come from an insurance background – success in this role is about your ability to build trust, generate business, and maintain professional relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Identify, pursue, and secure new commercial clients across Tasmania
Develop and maintain strong professional relationships built on trust and expertise
Work collaboratively with internal teams to deliver tailored client solutions
Attend networking and industry events to represent the business
Meet sales and activity targets through structured, proactive relationship development
About You
You're a proven B2B sales or account management professional who thrives on results and relationships. You've spent years working with business clients, managing portfolios, or driving growth through service contracts or major sales targets. You may currently work in:
Finance or Banking – e.g. business banking, asset or equipment finance
Service Industry Account Management – e.g. telecommunications, SaaS, cleaning or labour hire
Direct B2B Sales – e.g. vehicles, commercial equipment, plant and machinery, or commercial real estate
You're well-connected, active in the Tasmanian business community, and comfortable engaging across a range of industries. You're motivated, personable, detail-oriented and strategic in how you build relationships and close deals.
