About the Role
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Mid‐Term Design Engineer to join our dynamic and successful team. As a valued member of the Medium‐Term Planning team and reporting directly to the Medium/Long‐Term Superintendent, you will be responsible for:
* The strategic planning and development of medium‐term designs for truck and shovel, dragline and dozer push operations.
* Liaise with key personnel to ensure designs are optimised, aligned to the mine schedules and can be implemented safely.
* Developing and updating reserves to be used as inputs to the medium‐term schedules.
* Coordinate and work with other departments tying in all aspects of mine planning to ensure timely delivery of critical business objectives.
* Coach and mentor other Mining Engineers within the Technical Services department to build capabilities within the team.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering;
* Experience using Vulcan and 3DDig software packages;
* Experience using Deswik and Spry software packages is desirable;
* Well-developed interpersonal skills as this role deals with all levels of staff and management;
* A flexible attitude and a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and problem solve;
* Proven previous experience in a similar role.
