We are partnering with a leading organisation within the Defence sector to appoint an experienced Azure DevOps Lead to support a large-scale ICT transformation program, overseeing secure cloud delivery, vendor governance, and CI/CD capability uplift across a complex enterprise environment. Location: Cremorne, Melbourne Hybrid: 2–3 days / week WFH Contract Duration: 6 months with strong chance of extension Security Clearance: NV1 Required The Opportunity As the Azure DevOps Lead, you will provide strategic oversight and hands-on leadership across Azure DevOps delivery, ensuring vendor outputs, infrastructure, and deployment pipelines align with security, compliance, and operational standards. Working closely with architects, ICT delivery teams, and external partners, you will drive secure DevOps practices, automation, governance, and continuous improvement across a highly secure environment. This role is ideally suited to a senior DevOps professional with strong Azure expertise, experience within complex enterprise or government environments, and the ability to balance technical delivery with stakeholder engagement and vendor management. Key Responsibilities Oversee and govern Azure DevOps delivery performed by external vendors Support Defence Authority to Operate (AtO) processes through automated evidence and reporting Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines across Azure environments Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code using ARM, Bicep, or Terraform Perform auditing, validation, and quality assurance of DevOps artefacts and deployments Support secure cloud operations aligned to PROTECTED-level compliance requirements Integrate security controls across DevOps workflows and deployment processes Implement monitoring and alerting solutions across cloud platforms Support incident response, root cause analysis, and environment optimisation Maintain deployment documentation, configurations, and operational standards Collaborate with delivery teams across agile sprint cycles and project milestones About You Strong experience leading Azure DevOps delivery within enterprise environments Hands-on expertise across Azure cloud, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code Experience working within secure or regulated environments Experience creating and maintaining environment configurations and deployment documentation Security accreditation and compliance (IRAP, AtO) - desirable NV1 Security Clearance required Strong understanding of cloud security, governance, and compliance frameworks Ability to manage vendors, stakeholders, and technical delivery outcomes Experience across monitoring, automation, and deployment optimisation Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills Defence or Government experience highly regarded Why Apply?
