Role Overview

As a Kinship Case Manager, you will play a critical role in supporting children and young people placed in kinship care to achieve safe, stable, and nurturing home environments. Working within the Kinship Case Contracting and First Supports model, you will deliver timely, comprehensive assessments, identify support needs, and connect families with appropriate services.

You will manage a mixed caseload, providing early intervention for new kinship placements and ongoing case contracting support for established families. This includes strengthening kinship networks, promoting placement stability, supporting reunification where appropriate, and enabling children to thrive. The role also involves coordinating flexible brokerage support, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring all case management responsibilities are delivered in line with organisational and statutory requirements.

Skills and Experience

To be successful you will meet the person specification in the position description, including having a post‐secondary qualification in Social Work, Welfare or a related field.

* Current driver's licence valid in Victoria.
* A demonstrated knowledge and understanding of issues surrounding the out‐of‐home care system / family services and the available resources and services in Gippsland.
* Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with adults, adolescents, children and sector representatives.
* Experience in the provision of support to children, youth and their families with multiple and complex needs.
