About Prace College

Prace College is a registered special assistance school providing inclusive, flexible and supportive education for students whose learning needs are best met through an applied learning environment. Our programs support students to build confidence, strengthen engagement and develop meaningful pathways to further education, training and employment.

We deliver senior secondary and vocational programs, including VCE Vocational Major, Victorian Pathways Certificate and VET, with a strong focus on student wellbeing, individual learning needs and positive post‐school outcomes.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Head of Teaching and Learning to provide educational leadership across our school programs.

This is a key leadership role for a skilled teacher who is passionate about applied learning, curriculum quality, student engagement and supporting staff to deliver excellent outcomes for students.

Working closely with the Principal and leadership team, you will lead teaching and learning, support curriculum planning and implementation, mentor staff, and help ensure the school meets relevant compliance and quality requirements.

Key responsibilities
* Lead teaching and learning across VCE VM, VPC and VET programs
* Support curriculum planning, assessment, moderation and reporting
* Provide guidance, supervision and mentoring to teaching staff
* Contribute to whole‐school improvement and program development
* Support student engagement, wellbeing and successful learning outcomes
* Help ensure compliance with relevant VCAA, VRQA, VIT and school requirements
* Work collaboratively with staff, students, families, carers and external partners
* Promote a positive, inclusive and high‐expectations school culture

About you

You are an experienced teacher and educational leader who brings strong curriculum knowledge, sound professional judgement and a student‐centred approach. You are confident leading staff, strengthening teaching practice and supporting programs that meet the needs of diverse learners.

What you will bring
* Current VIT registration
* Experience teaching or leading VCE VM, VPC, VCAL, VET or applied learning programs
* Strong understanding of curriculum, assessment and compliance requirements
* Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and support teaching staff
* Excellent communication, organisation and relationship‐building skills
* A commitment to inclusive education, student wellbeing and applied learning
* The ability to work collaboratively as part of a school leadership team

Key Selection Criteria
* 1. Senior educational leadership Demonstrated capacity to lead high‐quality teaching and learning in an applied, flexible, inclusive or alternative education setting, including the ability to improve teacher practice and student outcomes.
* 2. Curriculum, assessment and compliance Demonstrated experience leading curriculum and assessment development, documentation, moderation and review, with strong knowledge of VCE VM, VPC, VET, VCAA, VASS and related compliance requirements.
* 3. Staff leadership and people management Demonstrated ability to supervise, coach, manage and develop teachers and Lead Teachers, including induction, professional learning, performance review, performance improvement and contribution to employment processes.
* 4. Inclusive education, student engagement and wellbeing collaboration Demonstrated ability to lead inclusive education systems, reasonable adjustments, NCCD documentation, Student Support Group processes, student engagement planning and collaborative approaches to wellbeing and behaviour support.
* 5. Operational management and communication Demonstrated ability to manage teaching and learning operations, allocate resources, support budget planning, communicate clearly with stakeholders and work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
