Navitas is looking for an experienced and proactive WHS Advisor to support wellness, health and safety across our University Partnerships Australasia Division. Working in our University Partnerships Australasia Division(UPA) you'll be supporting a portfolio of colleges, campuses, and offices.

The role is located in Sydney, and provides the opportunity to engage across our Australian and New Zealand locations as well as offshore colleges. Working in our UPA Division means you'll become part of a dedicated community that extends beyond the classroom, encompassing a wide range of professions.

Job Description

In this role, you'll work closely with operational leaders and be connected to our global WHS team, to support a safe and healthy work environment for our employees, students, contractors and visitors.

What you'll be doing

* Implement, and monitor workplace health, safety, and wellness programs in compliance with relevant regulations and industry best practices.
* Conduct risk assessments, identify potential hazards, and recommend appropriate risk mitigation measures.
* Manage and handle administration of injury cases, coordinate return-to-work programs, and facilitate effective communication between employees, management, and healthcare providers.
* Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, injuries and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
* Provide training and education to employees on health, safety, and wellness topics, promoting a culture of safety awareness.
* Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on health and safety metrics.
* Stay up-to-date with changes in relevant legislation, regulations, and industry standards, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in a relevant field e.g. Occupational Health and Safety, Public Health, or related discipline
* Good understanding of workplace health and safety legislation and best practices(e.g.OHSAS 18001, ISO 45001)
* Solid experience in injury and claims management and return-to-work programs
* Experience implementing wellness, health and safety programs
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Analytical and problem-solving abilities
* Proficiency in data analysis and report writing
* Knowledge of ergonomics and workplace risk assessment
* Familiarity with relevant software (e.g. safety management systems, incident reporting tools) is preferable
