About the role The Strategic Policy Directorate works across the Department for Education to facilitate best practice strategy and policy development and coordinate a strategic approach to stakeholder engagement. The Policy and Project Officer is responsible for providing support to a strategic policy, research and advisory service team. The incumbent will provide professional and efficient secretariat, policy, project and stakeholder support in a dynamic workplace.
Key responsibilities
Provide secretariat and stakeholder support to the strategic policy and project team.
Coordinate policy development, research and advisory services.
Assist with project planning, monitoring and reporting.
Maintain quality information systems and databases.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

Relevant qualification in policy, project, government or business management.
Special conditions The successful applicant is required to gain a DHS working with children check (WWCC) prior to employment, and this is renewed every five years. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online Fundamentals course, updated every three years.
Remuneration ASO3 $67,589 - $72,033 per annum (1.0 FTE) + superannuation (12%) and leave loading.
