Court Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria's courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission. Collectively, Victoria's Supreme, County, Magistrates', Children's, and Coroners courts, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), the Judicial College of Victoria, the Judicial Commission of Victoria, and Court Services Victoria (CSV) are referred to as the `Courts Group'.
The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) is the first level of the Victorian court system and is a jurisdiction within the Court Services Victoria. It has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state. The Court determines in excess of 300,000 cases per annum at 51 locations, equating to approximately 90 percent of all cases that come before Victorian courts each year. The Court aims to be an innovative, accessible, and responsive court that provides quality services to the Victorian community.
Specialist Courts and Programs within the Magistrates' Court lead therapeutic and solution-focused justice initiatives to address the root causes of offending and reduce re-offending. Services include Court Integrated Services Program (CISP), Assessment and Referral Court (ARC), Diversion, Drug Court, Koori Court, Specialist Family Violence Courts, Neighbourhood Justice Centre, and Victims of Crime Assistance Tribunal
About the role
The role is responsible for a range of administrative functions that supports the daily operations of the therapeutic services (CISP, ARC, Family Violence and Koori Court) at Courts in the Gippsland region. The role is based at Latrobe Valley Law Courts and may require travel to other locations throughout the Gippsland region.
Key Responsibilities
Handle reception duties and respond to enquiries from clients, court staff, and stakeholders
Provide administrative support for CISP, ARC, Family Violence, and Koori Court programs, including data entry, filing, and records management Coordinate client referrals and assist with bookings for assessments Support managers and case managers with documentation and enquiries
- Travel to other court locations throughout the Gippsland region to assist where required
