Position Overview
Officer – Venue Support (Casual Pool). Responsible for technical, front‐of‐house and event venue support as directed. Casual engagement with a competitive hourly rate of $43.36 plus 25% casual loading and up to 14% superannuation.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide high‐quality support services for the smooth operation of events, community activities and functions in council venues.
* Deliver customer service to hirers, visitors and internal stakeholders.
* Liaise with users on the day of events to confirm set‐up requirements and assist with site access.
* Deliver hirer inductions and ensure compliance with council workplace health and safety requirements.
* Ensure venues and common areas are clean, presentable and ready for public use; manage technical equipment for functions.
* Physically move and arrange furniture and equipment; provide event support including signage, catering delivery and other duties as directed.
* Carry out basic administration tasks – reporting, catering, generating function forms, completing incident forms.
* Use venue systems – Artifax, Vend, Microsoft Teams.
* Assist with vehicle management and securing venues after events.
* Act as warden in case of fire or emergency, ensuring safe evacuation.
* Advise senior officers on repairs, maintenance, safety and security matters.
* Assist with bar service and provide first aid within qualifications.
* Provide guidance in on‐the‐job training.
* Other duties within the scope of the role.
Essential Knowledge & Skills
* Experience in delivering direct service and support for functions or events.
* Team player who can work autonomously.
* Strong written and verbal communication.
* Experience in a venue management environment.
* Physical ability to set up rooms, including moving tables and chairs.
* Current Queensland 'C' Class driver's licence.
* Responsible Service of Alcohol certification.
* Queensland Blue card for working with children and young people.
