Overview
As the Mid-Term Mine Planning Engineer, you will be primarily responsible for developing, maintaining, and communicating mid-term (12‐week to Annual Budget) mine plans for Phosphate Hill Mine. This includes mine scheduling, design, reporting, and integration with downstream operational and processing requirements. You will ensure mine plans are safe, operationally deliverable, and commercially accurate while supporting continuous improvement and technical capability within the team.
Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain 12‐week rolling and Annual Budget mine schedules within ±5% accuracy
* Produce pit, waste dump, haul road, ramp, stockpile, and drill and blast designs using Deswik
* Integrate geotechnical, geological, ore quality, and plant requirements into mine plans
* Communicate monthly mine plan updates and key schedule changes to stakeholders and contractors
* Support contractor engagement, technical reviews, and execution alignment
* Mentor and develop Mine Production Engineers in mine planning systems and practices
Qualifications

* Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering (bachelor's degree minimum)
* Demonstrated experience in surface/open cut mining environments with mid-term planning responsibilities
* Competent in SAP Business Systems & Microsoft Office suite (Excel)
* Deswik scheduling & CAD software suite (preferable)
* Strong mine design skills including pits, waste dumps, haulage and drill and blast integration
* Working knowledge of QLD mining safety legislation and operational planning standards
