Our kitchen team is looking for a Sous Chef to join the leadership team. This is a key position in the kitchen that assists the head chef with the day today operations, team management and development, ordering and general kitchen management.
Key Responsibilities
* Take charge of the kitchen in the absence of the head chef, ensuring dishes meet presentation and quality standards.
* Coordinate between kitchen sections to maintain smooth service flow.
* Communicate clearly with FOH to manage service timing and special requests.
* Support the team as allrounder.
* Train and mentor kitchen staff.
* Ensure compliance with food safety and workplace standards.
* Assist with ordering and controlling COGs.
Requirements
* At least 5 years' experience in an a la carte restaurant.
* Experience working the pass.
* Ability to work under pressure.
* Excellent leadership and communication skills.
* Knowledge of food safety standards and HACCP.
* Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.
* Flexibility availability including weekends and evenings.
This is a fulltime position – 38 hours per week offering a salary of $85,000 per year with the requirement to work nights and weekends.
